Whether you choose autumnal October or November for your nuptials there’s a whole host of natural colours and themes to help create the perfect wedding day for you and your husband-to-be.

Every season conjures up it’s own image of colours and styles. And using the flavour of your chosen season can create a striking and memorable theme for you wedding day, as new bride Sarah recently discovered.

“We chose early October for our wedding as we first started dating at this time of year and I remember long walks through carpets of fallen, but really colourful leaves. I really love deep reds and gold, so these colours complimented our theme really well.”

Autumn days are cooler and there maybe less flowers around but nature is still resplendent in earthy textures and tones, such as gold, copper, rusts, browns and reds.

Sarah chose deep red as her main colour and wanted a wedding dress that would compliment such a warm colour.

“I had the perfect dress in my head, but hadn’t been able to find it anywhere. I visited Tie the Knot expecting much of the same, but after speaking to Wendy I really felt that she understood what I was looking for. When she brought out my wedding dress I knew it was the one for me before I’d event tried it on.”

Tie the Knot also supplied the bridesmaids dresses, as well as the waistcoats and cravats for Sarah’s husband Steven and the men in their wedding party.

To complete her outfit, Sarah used some of autumn’s natural sources by carrying a hand tied collection of foliage with wheat, dried grasses and berries in place of a floral bouquet.

Chatting with Wendy also encouraged Sarah to embrace the create unusual tables centres for the reception, with chunky candles nestled amongst arrangements of seasonal fruits. As an extra touch she marked each place setting with ripe apples or pears adorned with a leaf shaped tag bearing each guests name.

Says Sarah, “When I walked into Tie the Knot I expected the usual compliments and pleasantries, but here Wendy offers you much more. Not only was Wendy honest about the style of gown that suited me, but her experience and eye for detail helped me to create a whole wedding theme that was simple but really unique. I can’t thank her enough.”
